Plenty of Space

The Bank Barn
Built in the 1860s, this renovated barn offers ground access to both floors and comfortably accommodates around 125 seated or 150 standing guests. Features include a raised stage with twinkle lights, ideal for performances, ceremonies, or events. The barn's excellent acoustics enhance live music, and large doors facilitate guest movement. High ceilings and sturdy beams allow for versatile decorating options.

The Tobacco Barn
Built in 1940, The Tobacco Barn is a spacious, iconic venue originally designed for drying tobacco. It features a lovely flat lawn perfect for ceremonies, with the barn as a backdrop. The interior beams are ideal for decorations, accommodating up to 150 seated guests comfortably. Its open-air design and natural ventilation make it an excellent summer event space.

The Stage
In 2024, we converted our historic Log Pen Barn into a large and beautiful covered outdoor stage. In addition to being our region's newest place for music and performance events, the stage is also perfect for wedding ceremonies. The lawn in front of the stage can hold as many guests as one could ever need!
Prices
These rates are for weekend rentals only. Rental time officially runs from 4:00 PM Friday until 10:00 PM Sunday night. This includes time for set-up and tearing down an event. Note: In some circumstances, extra time can be allotted, but is not always available.

Details
Security Deposit: The security deposit is due at the time of the booking to secure the date. The remaining balance is due in full 30 days before the event.
Restrooms: Restrooms are located in the “metal building” in the center of campus. All rentals come with access to the buildings. Homeplace is responsible for having the restrooms cleaned and stocked at the start of any rental event. Renters are responsible for refilling toiletries from storage as needed for their guests. Renters do not have to clean or stock restrooms at the end of their event unless there is an excessive mess or overflowing waste baskets.
Tables & Charis: We have 13 six-foot tables and about 95 folding chairs. These are included in our rentals, and the renter is responsible for moving them and returning them to their storage space in the building. Additionally, in the bank barn only, we have six sturdy picnic tables and 10 large wooden benches. These can be used and re-arranged as needed, but must stay in the bank barn.
Parking: We have several options for parking, all of which are on grass spaces. Most events use the field in the center of campus for guests to park. The field in front of the historic Tate house may also be used. Our space can easily fit as many as 200 vehicles.
Renter Responsibilities: Renters are responsible for removing ALL trash from event spaces and putting it in the dumpster on the day/night of the event. Failure to do so will result in the loss of some or all of the renter’s security deposit. The remainder of the cleaning/tear down can take place the following day (Sunday) unless otherwise specified by the Program Director.
Cancellation Terms: The security deposit is non-refundable. The rental fee is non-refundable less than 30 days before the event, unless at the Board's discretion. We are an outdoor rental facility. Weather conditions (barring natural disasters) are not grounds for a refund.
